Game Description:
Animal Forest is the literal translation of the Japanese name for Animal Crossing. While most western regions got Animal Crossing for the first time ever for Gamecube, Japan had Animal Crossing debut in the N64. It might not be such a bad thing that we had to wait, though, since there are very little differences between the two versions.
There's an internal clock (since the N64 didn't have a clock of its own). It's missing two villagers from the Gamecube version. It doesn't have the island minigame (because there's no e-Reader). It's missing certain NPCs like Kapp'n and Tortimer. There are only 32 fish/bugs.
It makes sense that this version lacks certain features that the newer versions have. Even the Gamecube version was made near obsolete by the DS and Wii Animal Crossing games.
Translation Description:
This is a WIP translation project for Doubutsu no Mori or Animal Forest aka Animal Crossing. Not only does it appear to convert the game to English, but a lot of information is also contained within it. It still needs some work, but a lot of hacking work appears to have been done on the game.
