Step into the shoes of the other brother in this exciting visual and narrative overhaul for Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door! In this mod, Luigi takes center stage, swapping places with Mario to embark on a quest filled with adventure, intrigue, and a touch of green. The Mushroom Kingdom has always celebrated Mario's heroics, but what happens when Luigi steps up?
While the core gameplay remains true to the original, this mod brings fresh life to the experience.
- Character Swap: Luigi takes over Mario's role, featuring all-new dialogue and interactions that reflect his unique personality and journey.
- Visual Changes: Luigi isn't just stepping in for Mario—he's doing it in style! All character models and visual assets have been carefully adjusted to feature Luigi in the hero's role. Custom sprites, tweaked animations, UI changes, and other visual tweaks give Luigi a well-deserved moment in the spotlight.
- Edited Dialogue: Experience a story that respects Luigi's character, with tailored dialogue reflecting his unique personality. Specific changes to some dialogue and story elements that highlight Luigi's adventure, alongside an overhaul of Mario's quest in the Waffle Kingdom.
- + More: Be on the lookout for other changes too. I tried my best to leave no detail missed.
-The logo cannot be replaced in Ryujinx. It crashes the emulator. In Yuzu, it seems to work but I am not testing that for now.
-Luigi's L on his cap is not able to be flipped separately, which means as of now it is going to have to display incorrectly when he looks to the left side of the screen.
-Mario's voice could not be edited to be a custom one. The one he has now works just fine, but that might be why he sounds odd.
-The credits images and tutorial images have not yet been completed. They will be included in a future update.
-Peach's emails do not show up properly in the Mail tab of the Mailbox SP at the moment. These will be fixed in a future update.
Stay tuned! I want to work on ironing out the wrinkles to make Luigi's adventure as smooth as possible. If you encounter any bugs, please report them so I can squash them in future updates.

All testing was done using the Ryujinx emulator. Yuzu/Suyu should work well enough. Console has not been tested.
This mod has been tested and verified to work on the latest versions of the Ryujinx emulator. While it's also functional on Yuzu, please note there are slight differences between the two. Unfortunately, console play is currently untested—if you're a brave soul trying it out, please share your experience!
