Project II: Final Fantasy IV

Project II: Final Fantasy IV
Hack of Final Fantasy II

Description:

Project II: Final Fantasy IV is an extensive script rewrite and enhancement of Final Fantasy II for Super Nintendo, made largely with Pinkpuff's FF4kster.
FFII released in 1991 with a subpar script; through the years Final Fantasy IV has seen many others, but most ports of the game have issues pertaining to load times, lag, and sound. There are also several useful patches exclusive to the Super NES version. With Project II, FFII is transformed into an experience palatable for the modern gamer.
In Project II, enter the Crusade for the Crystals once more in a reinvigorated experience.
Features:
  • Entirely rewritten script, taking elements from various official localizations.
  • Restored missing content: use Pray, Salve, and Recall, find SomaDrops and Firebombs in chests, learn Armor and Shell, and more.
  • Updated title screen to reflect the game's true place in the series.
  • Every spell has an in-battle use.
  • Improved battle commands: FuSoYa can act during Regen which heals 160 HP per tick; Cry lowers enemy Magic Defense; Cid has new commands, Rush and Smog; and more.
  • Reverted censorship: the Baron dancer strips again, and the Tower of Zot features a guillotine.
  • Numerous bug fixes.
  • Sirens can be bought from an end-game shop.
  • Optional appendices for understanding equipment properties and item usage.
  • …And much, much more. See the readme for detailed information.
