Mother, I've come for color...
Finally able to release my second skin pack, now for my actual main, Sephiroth. A contender for my favorite antagonist in media. I'm excited to finally get something out for him. This is the only character who made me scream on reveal so naturally he was long planned for one of these, especially considering his default selection is infamously not very good and my large backlog of skins for him. Sephiroth also seems to be lacking in the more traditional recolor style department in the mod space a bit surprisingly, so perfect time for me to fix that. I actually agreed with Sakurai when he talked about his alts needing a "dark visage" but they maybe went a bit too far into that; you have to squint to tell if someone is using an alt. So I tried to give the alts more color without straying too far from that idea of it being dark for most of them, either in palette or being literally dark or "washed out". This pack focuses more on good color palettes than references, but I'll eventually do a second pack most likely since I have such a large backlog of Sephiroth skins I've been sitting on for so long, old and new (A good chunk of them are even older than my Ganon stuff, including some in this pack). This one is more of a collection of my best skins, both old favorites and new ones I made just for this pack to round it out, with more of a focus specifically on the diversity of the pack's offerings. If I get around to that second one, there'll be more reference based ones.
The skins are:
- c01 (Dark Lavender) (remake of vanilla c01)
- c02 (Red) (no it is NOT Genesis)
- c03 (Green)
- c04 (White)
- c05 (Blue)
- c06 (Bizarro/Reborn)
- c07 (Black-Red)
- c08 (Purple)
- c09 (Gold-Black)
- c10 (Ultimate Weapon)
- c11 (Brown)
- c12 (Turquoise)
- c13 (Ifrit)
- c14 (White-Gold)
- c15 (Midgar Zolom/Midgardsomr)
GameBanana had enough room for me to include images of the UI and stuff this time, but I still have tons more really good preview images that I'll link here in an imgur gallery. I also once again used Unrestricted Camera mod, so shoutouts to the creator.
Like the Ganon pack, it is intended to be reslotted and all that good stuff, but the c06 and c07 slots can have some issues putting the default skin onto them. Since the files for those aren't transferable between slots (without manually moving them at least), if you wish to move one of the c06 and/or c07 skins to c00-c05 (or expanded slots using them as a base), remove the following files:
dark_model.numatb, light_model.numatb, lod.xmb, metamon_model.numatb, model.nuhlpb, model.numatb, model.numdlb, model.numshb, model.numshexb, model.nusrcmdlb, and model.nusktb
if you wish to put something into those slots, put those files into the folder of the skin you wish to put on that slot instead. You'll need to insert all the vanilla textures the coat slots don't share with shirtless alts. I'll also drop the c06 and c07 as their own download without these files if you just want those for whatever reason. You can delete the c06 and c07 the pack comes with by default and merge this "pure" c06 and c07 for easier reslotting and all that. Please do let me know if there's any issues I'm not aware of (that aren't just normal reslotting issues that you can get answers for elsewhere). I apologize if there's any issues.
The shirtless slots also have this weird thing where the models deload in matches with more than 4 players, with c06 only being the sword and hair and c07 being a floating sword only, it's kinda funny. this of course isn't an issue online, but sad if you planned to use the skins offline in a big party. I might see if I can fix that in the future. You can always reslot them as c16 and c17 or something and leave the two shirtless alts as is.
