To the fans of the previous releases of Golden Sun: Dawn of Djinn, a version 2.0 release was shared in the past week. The update is large enough to consider a new Golden Sun ROM Hack in its own right. Some of the updated features include the following.
Dialogue that was removed in version 1 releases has been restored, but additional alternations to a small handful of NPC dialogue have been made to better ease players into new Dawn of Djinn mechanics and personal flair. The main story beats remain the same, but with some abridging and flavor text.
Every class has been renamed and have a different assortment of Psynergy assigned to them. A small handful of classes, especially with default classes are completely new. Party characters in general have been changed from the original for a fresh sense of gameplay. For example, Garret now behaves more like a physical glass cannon rather than a tank like in the OG Golden Sun. There are also two brand new classes that make use of Djinn combinations not used in the OG game nor version 1.
New skills have been added between the new classes and equipment you find along the way. The majority of Djinn and Djinn charms have been reworked into new abilities for better balancing. Other skills, such as summons may have also been readjusted for balancing.
Enemies, including bosses, have been reworked to be better balanced with the new classes and abilities. A handful of new enemies that didn't exist in version 1 may have been sneaked in as well.
New Casual/Brutal Patches Casual mode, aka the mode closer to the difficulty of the OG game, has been worked into a separate patch from the original game. Enemies stats and moves have been adjusted accordingly. The "main" patch has been renamed to veteran mode to better express that it's built for those already experienced with Golden Sun.
Brutal Keys still exist in the game, but not by default. Instead, via installing a patch from the advance set-up folder will allow you to have each of your party members start with a brutal key.
See the video trailer included in relevant link, or the project page on gitHub for more details.
