A new set of Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges is appearing on player consoles around the world over the next few hours, as their local time zone clicks past midnight on Thursday evening.

GT7's Weekly Challenges are a curated set of five events, largely pulled from the existing events you'll find in World Circuits but sometimes — more often than not in recent weeks — featuring a Special Event that's created just for the week. That includes this week, and it's a bit of a corker.

That sees the return of the All Japan GT Car Championship, which takes the form of a 16-car grid dressed in classic JGTC-like liveries. The cars range from bona fide race machines to highly tuned 90s performance cars, and that also neatly explains the current crop of "Special Picks" in Legends Cars.

For this week's event the race is heading to the Autopolis circuit for a ten-lap blast. It's also the most lucrative event this week, with the eight laps worth some 150,000cr. Given that there's no car restrictions either, it's a possible way to farm credits if you need a break from the regular ways.

Coming in as the second-highest payout is the Hypercar Parade at the 24 Heures du Mans Circuit — formerly Circuit de la Sarthe. It's a five-lap run for a 115,000cr win bonus with no limits other than the requirement of a road car. Note that this event may need unlocking if you haven't already done so.

High Speed Ring makes a rare appearance, as the Reverse layout of the track hosts the American Clubman Cup 700. You'll need a road or "professionally tuned" car from — as the name suggests — the USA for this five-lap race, with 65,000cr on the table for victory.

There's another appearance of the Porsche Cup, this time in the round at the Nurburgring Nordschleife. It's a lengthy lap so the race consists of just one tour, and you're going to need a Porsche (obviously) at or below the 650PP (Performance Point) cap. We'd recommend something with legs, as one AI car likes to hoof down the Dottinger Hohe at the end and rob you of the 52,500cr prize money.

Finally, head to Tokyo Expressway's East Clockwise course for a two-lap sprint in the Japanese 4WD Challenge 600. There's no PP limit here, only a suggestion of 600PP, but you will need a road or tuned car from Japan equipped with any type of 4WD system. Take the win to earn 37,000cr.

For a second week in a row, the completion rewards this week are pure cash prizes. You'll score 100,000cr, 200,000cr, and 500,000cr tickets for completing one, three, and all five events respectively. Don't forget that you'll need to redeem these from your garage's Gifts section to add the credits to your in-game bank account.

You'll need to have completed GT Cafe Menu Book 39 and watched the ending movie in order to have access to the Weekly Challenges. The events update at midnight local time on Thursday evenings/Friday mornings, so we'd expect the next set on the morning of Friday August 30.
