Prime's live-action adaptation of RGG's legendary Yakuza/Like a Dragon series will premiere on 24th October on Prime, and judging from the above trailer, it's going to be a banger. The melodramatic action drama delves into the lives and times of the shadowy Japanese underworld and its inhabitants, taking place in the fictional town of Kamurocho and set across two connected timelines, 1995 and 2005.
In 1995, a young Kiryu, along with friends Nishiki, Yumi, and Miho, plan to rob a local arcade under the protection of the Dojima family, a powerful local yakuza group. In 2005, meanwhile, Kiryu prepares for his release from prison, learning from a sympathetic detective that his childhood friends in Kamurocho are in danger. A looming battle between regional yakuza organizations, the Tojo Clan and the Omi Alliance, is about to begin.
