Metal Slug Is Getting The 'Tactics' Treatment On Xbox This November
Metal Slug Tactics, the upcoming tactical RPG adaptation of the classic run-and-gun arcade series, is set to launch on November 5th across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
The game will feature several iconic characters from the Metal Slug universe, including some returning favorites from the Ikari Warriors series. New playable fighters include:
- Clark Still: A tank-like ally with immense strength and wrestling experience, able to relocate enemies and dish out wide-reaching, status-inflicting damage.
- Ralf Jones: A master of short-range combat, packing devastating punches and the ability to charge at enemies head-on.
- Leona Heidern: A revered fighter capable of replacing fallen enemies with decoy allies, allowing her to distract and overwhelm enemy forces.
Metal Slug Tactics promises to blend the classic arcade action of the Metal Slug series with deep tactical gameplay and roguelike elements. Players will lead a squad through hand-crafted maps, utilizing powerful special attacks and upgradable weapons/abilities to take down the Rebel Army and defeat the returning villain, General Morden.
The game will feature an original soundtrack composed by Tee Lopes, known for his work on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge and the Sonic Mania soundtrack. A physical edition is also planned, with further details to be announced at a later date.
