The possibilities for classic PS1 RPGs coming to PS5 are quite promising, with several high-profile titles being considered for release or remaster. Here's what we know:

1. Final Fantasy Tactics and Vagrant Story:
- Naoki "Yoshi-P" Yoshida, the producer of Final Fantasy XVI, has expressed strong interest in bringing these two classic PS1 RPGs to modern platforms, including PS5.
- Yoshida stated, "I want to give Vagrant Story and Final Fantasy Tactics to future generations so that they can always be played on any platform."
- He emphasized the importance of making these masterpieces playable alongside modern gaming trends.

2. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth:
- While not a direct port, this highly anticipated next chapter in the Final Fantasy VII remake project continues to bring classic PS1 era content to the PS5.
- It's scheduled for release and will reimagine the iconic fantasy adventure.

3. Other Potential Remasters:
- The success of recent remasters like Tactics Ogre Reborn (released in 2022 for PS5 and PS4) has fueled rumors and hopes for more PS1 RPG remasters.
- There's been an abundance of Final Fantasy Tactics PS5 rumors circulating online.

4. Industry Trends:
- The list of PS1 games available on PS5 continues to grow, indicating a strong interest in bringing classic titles to modern hardware.
- Remakes and remasters of classic games have been successful, encouraging publishers to consider more PS1 era titles for re-release.

5. Challenges:
- Some titles, like Vagrant Story, haven't received major remasters or re-releases in over 20 years, despite fan demand.
- The process of remastering or remaking these games for modern systems can be time-consuming and resource-intensive.

We're trying to do as many Working Designs ones as we can. And we're offering all of them. So yeah, please write [to] Sony and say you would like them as a fan. And the offer's there, the talks are there, they're productive. We'll see what happens. Because it was available one time, and then it went away, so it just needs to be converted over so it works on their newer stuff. And that's not a technical hurdle, that's a business hurdle.

So hopefully, if they get enough people saying, 'I want this.' I know it's out there online because I see posts online that are saying, 'oh, this is the month Alundra gets added to PlayStation Plus.' And I'm like, 'not this month. It's like, not happening this month because they haven't talked to me.' So I know it's not happening. But absolutely, it is the goal. We have been working on it for quite a while. And yeah, I mean, it'd be great. It's an anniversary sort of season. So yeah, it'd be a perfect, perfect time to get that stuff back up.

While no official announcements have been made for many of these titles, the interest from high-profile industry figures like Yoshi-P and the ongoing trend of remastering classic games suggest that we're likely to see more PS1 RPGs make their way to the PS5 in the future. Final Fantasy Tactics and Vagrant Story seem to be at the top of the list for potential releases, given the explicit interest from Square Enix executives.
