Square Enix has released streaming rules in Japan for Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake, set to launch next week. These guidelines cover how players can share gameplay and footage online.

Players can post images and videos on social media and streaming sites for "non-commercial" use, but Square Enix asks them to warn about major story spoilers. Importantly, sharing the ending or post-ending content is off-limits until after December 13, 2024 (as reported by Siliconera).

"When streaming key story scenes, please add a 'spoiler warning' label to avoid ruining the experience for new players."
"Don't livestream the ending and post-ending gameplay after the final fight until December 13, 2024. Also, don't post videos or images of these parts."

The rules also ban videos or playlists that only show cutscenes or music without including "regular gameplay" between them.

These kinds of guidelines aren't new. Companies like Atlus, Koei Tecmo, and Arc System Works have set similar rules before certain game releases. While Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake updates the classic RPG, it's worth noting the original game came out in 1988.
