The sheer amount of work that goes into a Skyrim expansion mod is ridiculous, and modders are doing God's work when it comes to keeping Bethesda's RPG alive.
However, while we've seen some truly impressive expansions, the one we're talking about today really takes the cake.
It's called The Elder Scrolls: Apotheosis, and it's coming out sometime next year exclusively for PC players.
In a way, it's like the Elder Scrolls version of Fallout: London, an expansion set in the same world that tells an entirely different story across entirely new locations, all built from the ground up.
You can watch the full trailer for the expansion on YouTube, which boasts some gorgeous visuals as well as the exciting gameplay.
It looks like the developers wanted to do more than stick a few NPCs in for the game's hack and slash gameplay to dice up, as the enemy design looks like nothing Bethesda has done before.
One example is what seems to be a boss fight that moves through the arena at a rapid pace, which gives off some major Dark Souls or Elden Ring vibes compared to Skyrim's usual slow speed gameplay.
A full list of planned features can be found in the video's description, and as stated earlier, the creator is aiming for a 2025 release.
As far as Skyrim expansions go, The Elder Scrolls: Apotheosis looks to be the most impressive one by far, but unfortunately console players might not be able to experience it, as it's looking like it'll only be supported on PC.
