Toby Fox, the creator of Deltarune, has officially announced that Chapters 3 and 4 of the game "will 100% come out in 2025." This announcement came on October 31, 2024, which marked the 6th anniversary of Deltarune Chapter 1's release.
Fox stated that he's eager to show what the team has created over the past six years. However, he couldn't provide a more specific release date within 2025, as the exact timing still depends on localization and console porting processes.
Unlike the first two chapters of Deltarune, which were released for free, Chapters 3 and 4 will be paid releases. The pricing details haven't been revealed yet, but Fox had previously mentioned that these chapters would likely cost more than Undertale's launch price.
It's worth noting that plans have slightly changed since Fox's initial announcements. Originally, Chapter 5 was intended to release alongside Chapters 3 and 4, but that's no longer the case. Development on Chapter 5 is still ongoing, with Fox having shifted his role to work on it after completing his part for Chapters 3 and 4.
The announcement has been met with excitement from the fan base, who have learned to be patient with the game's development. While some had hoped for a 2024 release, most fans are just eager to see where the story goes next in this long-awaited continuation of the Deltarune saga.
