Priced at £599/$679, the device will be sold in all regions where Steam Deck is currently available, including new markets like Australia and areas served by Komodo, such as Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. Valve states it will be offered in limited numbers, with stock spread evenly across these regions.
To reduce scalping, Valve will limit each customer to one unit and require buyers to have made a valid Steam purchase before November 2024 to qualify. This approach aims to give more people a chance to buy one.
The company notes that this model will have the same specs as the Steam Deck OLED 1TB version, with its white and grey design being the main attraction. It will also come with a matching white carrying case and cleaning cloth.
Valve first hinted at a white version of its handheld console three years ago, showing a Portal-inspired prototype at its 2021 developer summit. However, this never went on sale, with the company previously only offering the device in black and a limited translucent design.
