The Nintendo Switch has had a dominant life as a hybrid console-handheld, enjoying success since its launch in 2017. However, late last year heard some rumblings that Nintendo was preparing to move onward to a successor to the Nintendo Switch. According to Video Games Chronicle, Eurogamer, and other insider sources, development kits for a "Switch 2" had already been sent out to third-party devs, and rumors were claiming that the system would launch sometime in 2024. Now, things have changed. While Nintendo was planning to launch the Switch 2 around late 2024, those same insider sources claim that due to some internal delays, the next-gen Nintendo console is targeting a Q1 2025 launch--similar to the original Switch, which launched in...

One of the most popular websites in regard to romhacks, fan translations and other kinds of pre-patched modifications to retro titles has always been CDRomance. Chances are if you were looking for a specific mod or hack for a certain title, most likely you'd find it there in an already patched form. However, as of this past weekend, the way in which CDRomance operates has changed. On February 11th, CDRomance's owner, nicknamed "Spike" received what seems to be a notice by the ESA (Entertainment Software Association), which effectively took down CDRomance's ads that helped maintaining the servers online. This action prompted Google to ask for the removal of any kind of file-sharing going on with the website, to which Spike complied and...

Back in the 90s, Nintendo worked alongside St. Giga in Japan to bring forth exclusive software for their Super Nintendo system at the time, all this through broadcast satellite transmission, which ended up being titled "BS" (which stands for Broadcast Satellaview). A good number of Nintendo first party franchises were available for to the service, like Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, and also F-Zero. The BS titles which originally released back then were saved into memory, and it's due to this specific hurdle that many, many titles from the BS era of the Super Nintendo have become increasingly rare to track down and preserve, and the passing of time doesn't help in this regard, since the hardware in whicj the games were saved...

Ranma vs. Ranma is a project that originated as one of the author's early projects five years ago. By mixing Irem's classic "Kung Fu" with the beloved anime character Ranma Saotome, the author crafted Ranma's 1st adventure (albeit unofficially) for the Nintendo NES. However, the author found the initial result somewhat lacking, and armed with newfound expertise and experience, they decided to revamp the project practically from the scratch. With nearly all of the game assets replaced, this latest iteration feels akin to an official release. Contained within the *.rar file is the new version, offering players the choice to assume the role of either Ranma-boy or Ranma-girl, alongside the 2019 version for those interested in making...
