The Blaze Announce Dual Cart Featuring Mega Drive Titles Metal Dragon & Life On Mars is a new product announcement from Blaze for the Evercade retro gaming platform.

The cart will contain two previously released Mega Drive/Genesis homebrew games - Metal Dragon and Life on Mars - developed by Spanish studio Kai Magazine Software. Metal Dragon is a top-down run-and-gun game, while Life on Mars is a 16-bit atmospheric action-adventure platformer.

The dual cartridge is expected to release in December 2024 and will be compatible with all existing Evercade hardware as well as the HyperMegaTech! Super Pocket handheld. It will be available to pre-order starting October 30th for $19.99/£17.99/€19.99.

"In Metal Dragon, players take on the role of an elite operative sent to infiltrate an enemy base and rescue the president's daughter. Although the mission is supposed to be covert, Metal Dragon has a short attention span and is easily bored, so things quickly turn explosive and violent! The action doesn't let up in this top-down run-and-gun title, and multiple difficulty levels provide plenty of replay value.

"In Life on Mars, interplanetary repair technician Sam has been sent to investigate why a colony on the red planet has lost contact with Earth. An atmospheric action adventure awaits in this 16-bit exploration platformer inspired by classic '80s sci-fi horror movies. Players will explore the base a section at a time, gradually acquiring new abilities and upgrading their power to take on tougher challenges."

This appears to be an exciting new addition to the Evercade's growing library of retro gaming content, bringing two modern Mega Drive/Genesis titles to the platform. Fans of classic 16-bit action and adventure games should keep an eye out for this release later this year.
