Ostranauts it is set in a solar system completely cut off from a destroyed Earth. You play as a scavenger trying to make a living, but the wage-slave scrapper life doesn't cut it. You're finally ready to go at it alone thanks to your savings and a hefty loan.
You will create, build, and customize your ship; scavenge the boneyard; and hire/manage a crew. But a warning: beware of the cost of every decision you make. Don't let yourself fall into bankruptcy… or worse…
Ostranauts is part of the same universe as Blue Bottle Games' previous title, NEO Scavenger. If you're willing to explore, you will find it is deep with lore. Colonies and factions formed after the collapse of civilization back on Earth, but only the most adaptable survive outer space. States and corporations have power throughout the System, while news about an unexplained phenomenon spreads through back channels.
Create your character by shaping your background, income, and qualifications; and customizing your traits to affect how you interact with people. You can also build your dream ship by using functional parts that can be scavenged in the boneyard. You don't just design your ship though: you will fly it by manipulating control panels, flipping switches, and not pressing that shiny red button no matter how much you want to.
Ostranauts is expected to get several updates prior to its 1.0 launch. Version 1.0 will have a robust feature set and ample content, and the developer plans to continue updates and improvements past that point.
Developed by Blue Bottle Games and published by Kitfox Games, Ostranauts will fully launch for PC via Steam in 2025.
