The game, set to be published by Bandai Namco, will be available on both PS5 and PS4; however, no additional details have been disclosed at this time. Gematsu speculates that the title may be called Death Note: Killer Within, as Shueisha, the original publisher of the manga, registered that trademark earlier this year.
Previously, Konami adapted Death Note into a series of games for the Nintendo DS, but those titles were never localized and thus did not see release outside of Japan.
It will be intriguing to observe what Bandai Namco has in store; recent titles such as Spy x Anya: Operation Memories indicate a willingness to experiment with licensed anime content, raising hopes that this new project will also reflect a similar innovative approach.
