Jodi Benson, known for voicing Ariel in Disney's The Little Mermaid, has been confirmed as the voice actress behind Eva in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. This revelation comes after 20 years of secrecy.
Benson used the pseudonym "Suzetta Miñet" for her role in the game. The name was created by combining her childhood dog's name, Suzette Monet, with a slight modification suggested by the game's voice director, Kris Zimmerman Salter.
The decision to use a pseudonym was made to maintain separation between Benson's family-friendly roles and her work on the more mature-themed Metal Gear Solid game. This information was recently disclosed in the third part of Konami's Metal Gear Solid Legacy Series documentary.
Benson will reprise her role as Eva in the upcoming remake, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, though it's unclear whether she'll be credited under her real name or the pseudonym.
