You're going to have to cast your mind back a long way for this one, as The Last Ninja Collection is officially bringing seven games from the '80s and '90s to Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S at some point in 2025.

The entire Last Ninja series from the Commodore 64 is included here, as well as the Amiga and Spectrum versions where possible. You also get International Karate, IK+ and Bangkok Nights - all titles that were released in the late '80s.

Here's the full list of games included with The Last Ninja Collection:

  • The Last Ninja (1987)
  • Last Ninja 2 (1988)
  • Last Ninja 3 (1991)
  • Ninja Remix (1990)
  • International Karate (1985)
  • International Karate+ (1987)
  • Bangkok Knights (1988)
If you're interested in getting the Xbox version of The Last Ninja Collection, you can actually pre-order it right now via the game's Kickstarter campaign with multiple limited edition versions available - the price starts at £50 in the UK.

The one downside of the Xbox version is that the company can't commit to a physical disc release due to "Microsoft's new publishing policy" - apparently they're in discussions to try and secure an exception. If that happens, a disc version may become available, but otherwise it sounds like we'll have to make do with a digital download in a "collector's pack".

You'll find many more details over on the Kickstarter page, and here's a bit more about the idea behind the collection:

"This collection brings together the entire Last Ninja series of C64 versions along with Amiga and Spectrum versions, where available, for the first time. Not only are we offering The Last Ninja, Last Ninja 2, Last Ninja 3 and Ninja Remix, we are also adding the critically acclaimed International Karate, (the first European game to top the USA C64 billboard charts), IK+ and Bangkok Knights.

These games were milestones in the gaming industry, pushing the boundaries of what was possible with the technology of the time and making them available to play on PS4, PS5, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and Windows PC."
