The 2nd part continuation in the short animated trilogy of Shadow's "Dark Beginnings" series has been released today in the Sonic The Hedgehog official YouTube channel.

This 2nd episode serves as the prologue continuation for "Sonic X Shadow Generations". "Finding the Way" continues with short flashbacks to Shadow's past during the Ark events 50 years, and this time we get to see a small glimpse of the G.U.N. commander (as a child) from the 2005 game "Shadow The Hedgehog", in a quick interaction between him and Maria, with Maria shouting back his name and then talking to Shadow, who's in front of a medical pod with a Black Arms alien larva, thinking about what it means to him to share the same DNA as the Black Arms alien species. We then switch back to Shadow in the present day storming one of Eggman's desert bases with some pyramids (an obvious reference to Sand Ocean from Sonic Adventure 2) to seek a spacecraft to reach the Ark, he then encounters both Omega and Rouge while they're on a GUN mission. All the members of Team Dark fight off against Eggman's robots. At the end, Rouge offers Shadow a access to a ship by raiding a GUN base.

As an additional tidbit of information, the name shouted by Maria, "Abe" (short for "Abraham" in English languages), to the child who will grow up to be the GUN commander confirms one small bit of information that was previously considered non-canon. While minuscule to some, this specific scene seems to confirm that the actual name of the GUN commander is the one that was given to him from the Archie comics, "Abraham Tower". Before this, the character at hand was only mentioned as "G.U.N. Commander".
