Other than treading on a piece of LEGO or stumping your toe on a skirting board, there's not much worse than wasting your hard-earned cash on a video game that ended up being absolute pants. This is where the benefit of free playable demos comes into play whether we game on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo or mobile devices.
Check out the Soulmask trailer below!
The free demo in question that you can check out on Steam for PC right now is an indie title developed by CampFire Studio and published by Qooland Games, it's none other than the open-world survival crafting game, Soulmask and you can check out its demo with no obligation to buy.
"Soulmask is a sandbox game that prioritizes an authentic survival experience. As the "last one" blessed with the mysterious mask, players will grapple for survival in a primitive land steeped in mysterious faiths, carving out a path to ascendance," reads the description of the game. "Start from nothing, explore, build, recruit tribesmen to fortify your clan, and ultimately unravel the mysterious truths hidden behind the civilisations of this world."
Despite not being released yet, the Soulmask demo is already bellowing up in the Steam trending charts as one of the most-played demos right now amongst the likes of Final Fantasy XIV Online, Deltarune and Street Fighter 6.
In fact, you can check out loads of playable demos, including the ones I've just mentioned and much more. So with that in mind, the Steam demo page is well worth checking out to see if something tickles your fancy.
At this time Soulmask hasnt been confirmed for consoles but it will arrive on PC next month on 18 June 2024.
