The latest Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges, and the chance to earn almost a million credits in bonus prizes, are starting to land on player consoles around the world as midnight on Thursday evening ticks past.

Comprising a curated set of five events, mostly from the existing World Circuits events but with a now-regular "Special Event" too, GT7's Weekly Challenges give out bonus rewards for completing the events during the seven-day window. That starts when midnight passes in your local time zone (or at least when your console thinks midnight it; don't try to muck about with this though!).

This week's Special Event revisits the recently added Eiger Nordwand circuit with a one-make — or rather two-make — challenge for the Porsche 356A. You can pick either of the two models, both of which are available in Legends Cars right now, for the five-lap race which pays out 80,000cr for victory. There's no tuning limits either so, assuming you're not out too much on buying the cars (the cheapest being over 600,000cr), feel free to go nuts. You can even swap in a Porsche 959 engine to the coupe…

There's no particularly low-paying race this week, with the European FR Challenge 550 at Brands Hatch GP bringing up the rear at 40,000cr for the win. You can use any front-engined, rear-wheel drive road car from a European manufacturer for the three-lap race, and there's no tuning limits here.

Nor is that an issue for the Japanese 4WD Challenge 600 at the Red Bull Ring. It's a three-lap race for 4WD road or tuned cars from Japan in any state of tune, and there's 45,000cr for taking first place.

There's a pair of ten-lappers in this week's races too, starting with a pretty frantic event at the Big Willow course at Willow Springs. You'll need any of the cars from the Gr.B stable, and equipped with Racing Tires for this event. Take care which grade too, as tire wear can be high and the 65,000cr winner's prize isn't all that much considering the race length.

Finally there's the World Touring Car 700 race at Dragon Trail Gardens Reverse. This does have a tuning limit, with a maximum Performance Point (PP) value of 700 — and bear in mind you'll need Racing Tires for this, which can dramatically affect PP ratings. It's the most lucrative event here too, at 115,000cr for winning over the ten laps.

The rewards this week are purely cash tickets, which you'll need to redeem from your Gifts section in order to collect the credits. There's a 100,000cr ticket for completing one event, a 200,000cr ticket for completing three, and a 500,000cr ticket for the clean sweep.

You'll need to have completed GT Cafe Menu Book 39 and watched the ending movie in order to have access to the Weekly Challenges. The events update at midnight local time on Thursday evenings/Friday mornings, so we'd expect the next set on the morning of Friday September 20.
