It's time to set up shop in Amber Isle! The village is friendly and bursting with a mix of Paleofolk (the game's name for the game's prehistoric animals, as they are from many different geological eras) The Paleofolk are absolutely desperate for you to breathe new life into their community and bring the Isle back from the brink of fossilization.
Amber Isle has seen better days, and it's slowly whittled down to about 50 remaining residents. There are Ice Age mammals, Permian amphibians, marine life, invertebrates, and more. The grumpy iguanodon mayor is keen yet cynical about your new venture, but he mostly wants Amber Isle to return to its glory days. You will rebuild, decorate, and unlock new areas on Amber Isle, tempting Paleofolk to come to Amber Isle.
Taking on a shop is challenging, so after creating your own Paleo-persona you will have to get your claws dirty to maintain the shop. Do what you want with the shop: customize, name, and run it your way. Profits can be used to unlock new shop decor, floors, walls, and more to help decorate the space. Your time will be spent bartering with customers, stocking shelves, making friends with the locals, improving the village, and exploring the area for new items to craft. Hopefully, you'll even convince some Paleofolk to return to the village.
Each customer has their own needs, and you have to stock the store with everything they could want. Each customer also has unique behaviours. Does the microraptor need a micro-chair? Does the plesiosaur need waterproof paper? As for you, you need to figure it all out. If the item is in stock, you'll haggle, pawn, and counter-offer to get as much in return as possible.
Developed by Ambertail Games and published by Team17, Amber Isle will be released for PC via Steam on October 10 and Nintendo Switch on October 31.
