Combining the best of titles such as Rust and Bloodborne, this brand-new open-world multiplayer survival game is taking the gaming sphere by storm.

Once Human is a brand-new title by Starry Studio which combines the chaos of the multiplayer world of Rust with the eldritch horrors found in Bloodborne to create an enthralling new survival horror game.

Set in a strange, post-apocalyptic future, Once Human tasks players with uniting with friends to defeat some truly monstrous enemies unlike any you have seen before.

You will also have to unearth resources, build your base, uncover secret plots and use your power to remake the world.

"The apocalypse changed everything. Human, animal, plant… all are infested by an alien creature – Stardust," the official synopsis reads. "As a Meta-Human, you can survive the contamination and use the power of Stardust. Play alone or join others to fight, build and explore. When the world is in chaos, you are our last hope".

At the time of writing, Once Human currently sits at a "mixed" rating on Steam with players praising its fun gameplay but criticising its multiple bugs and glitches.

"Pros: It's fun. Cons: It's jank", read one review.

Another read: "This game is free and it plays better than half the games that cost 70 dollars. Smooth gameplay, great gunplay, RPG elements are fun. All in all, a lot of stuff to do".

However, with progress getting wiped with each new season, Once Human is not for everybody.

"Game is fantastic but due to the wipe after each season this game is a big no," another review detailed. "Sadly I cannot recommend it because of this sole reason as it will most likely make a lot of players with a life, career, family leave the game."

If you want to try Once Human out for yourself, it is free to download courtesy of Steam right now.
