Before it takes its final bow, the current expansion has one more season left for players to enjoy, with changes to its dungeons, raids, and endgame content and progression to keep players busy. Here is when Season 4 releases and what kind of content will be included.
World of Warcraft: Dragonflight Season 4 Release Date
World of Warcraft: Dragonflight Season 4 will officially begin on April 23, and will run until the release of the next expansion, which is set to release later this year. With this new season, player PvP rankings and Mythic+ scores will reset and begin a new cycle of progression.
This follows on the heels of the well-received Plunderstorm limited-time mode recently released in World of Warcraft, which has seen refinements and a new trios mode that have kept the mode relevant and balanced.
What to Expect in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight Season 4
Season 4 of World of Warcraft: Dragonflight will be the last season leading up to The War Within expansion, but that doesn't mean it will be a drag but any stretch.
The most notable changes will be coming to the dungeons for Season 4, specifically the challenges and rewards associated with each difficulty. In a Blizzard blog post, the developers explained that Heroic dungeons will see their rewards move up to roughly the same level as the current Mythic 0, while Mythic dungeon's difficulty and rewards will jump up to the current level of Mythic 8-10. As for Mythic+, they will increase in difficulty but offer much better rewards, with Blizzard's example stating that a current Mythic +15 would be what to expect from a Season 4 Mythic 5+.
In essence, progression may be a bit slower but much more rewarding. These changes will also be seen in The War Within, along with the new Hero Talents and other features coming in the expansion. Along with that, a new rotation of Mythic+ dungeons will be introduced, which will include all the Dragonflight dungeons, these being:
- Algeth'ar Academy
- Brackenhide Hollow
- Halls of Infusion
- Neltharus
- Ruby Life Pools
- The Azure Vault
- The Nokhud Offensive
- Uldaman: Legacy of Tyr
There is no new raid coming in Season 4, and instead, players can look forward to Awakened Raids and even harder raid bosses. This will see one of the three raids, Vault of the Incarnates, Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible, and Amirdrassil, the Dream's Hope, become fated. These raids will feature greater difficulty for better rewards, which will change with each weekly reset. In addition, PvP rankings will reset, bringing on a new season, complete with new rewards to earn as players fight their way through the ranks.
With the release around the corner, players can expect Blizzard to release a few more details about the upcoming season in the coming weeks, but it looks like the swan song for World of Warcraft: Dragonflight will be a good one that should be rewarding enough to hold players over until later this year.
